Hi, I’m Marta

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a gas station attendant.

It was a two-part dream. I could talk to strangers all day and the coveralls meant I wouldn’t get in trouble for getting my clothes dirty. As an adult, I discovered some issues with this plan. 1. They don’t really make coveralls in my size. 2. I know nothing about cars, and 3. I don’t live in New Jersey, the only place that still has attendants.
So instead, I took that love of communication and people — and steered it in a different direction (or maybe three).

Direction 1: Communications Consultant

This is the part where I keep my clothes clean and use phrases like “brand alignment” without flinching.

A former editor, I’ve spent over ten years helping nonprofits, small businesses, and B2B companies clarify their message, connect with their audiences, and communicate like real humans. My work includes strategy development, internal communications, and content creation.

My work is grounded in best practices and a strong understanding of business practices. But it’s special sauce is empathy. I help you see your audiences and because you see them, you communicate better with them.

Direction 2: Stand Up Comic

Everyone’s mid-life crisis looks different. Mine looked like me on stage with a microphone.

I’ve performed at locations all around Chicago including Laugh Factory and Comedy Plex and told jokes that made my mom question her parenting choices and my kids question mine.

Comedy taught me timing, audience reading, empathy, resilience and the fine art of not taking myself too seriously. All skills that are coincidentally, useful in business.

Direction 3: Putting it All Together

My greatest joy as a communications professional has always been helping people feel more comfortable in their jobs, comedy has helped me do just that.

I teach individuals and organizations how to use the principles of stand-up comedy—empathy, timing, storytelling, resilience, vulnerability, punchlines—to become better communicators and leaders.

Whether it’s a workshop for your team or a keynote that doesn’t make people check their phones, I bring business and comedy together to create impact (and maybe even fun).
